Sandra “Sandy” Bragg, 78, of Grygla, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025, at her home with her loving family by her side.
Sandy was born in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Harry and Mabel (Levang) McLean, and was the third of six children. She attended school in Grygla and Goodridge, MN graduating with the Class of 1965. During high school, Sandy was a cheerleader, a role she enjoyed and remembered fondly.
In her younger years, Sandy often traveled to the Twin Cities to help care for her brothers’ children. Throughout her life, she worked at various places including the Thief River Times, Grand Forks Clinic alongside two of her sisters, and later at Apple Valley Medical Center.
In 1970, Sandy married the love of her life, Danny C. Bragg, in Grygla, MN, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla.
Sandy enjoyed sewing and baking with her kids and grandkids, creating cherished memories in the kitchen and at home. Together, Sandy and Danny loved spending time with family, traveling, wintering in Florida and Arizona, and treasured special trips including an Alaskan cruise and a memorable journey to Norway.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Brown of Grand Forks, ND; son, Paul (Holly) Bragg of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren: Kassandra (Cole), Brandon (Javier), Keegan, Emmeline, and Macy; great-grandchildren: Millie and Dax; siblings, Darlene (Wally) Anderson, Bette (Glenn) Sundberg, Joy (Ellis) Austin, Julie (Steve) Sparby; sister-in-law, Donna Lian; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Danny, on September 14, 2024; her parents, Harry and Mabel McLean; her brother, Gerald McLean; and step-father, Karl Sundberg.
A service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN, with Rev. Vicki Saude-Worthington officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. Olaf Cemetery near Grygla, MN.
Sandy will be remembered for her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
