Expect delays and lane closures through August.
Roadwork is well underway on Highway 89, with construction expected to last through the end of August. Crews have been working steadily to replace culverts and redo the crossings between Highway 219 and the Roseau County line. That portion of the project is expected to wrap up this week.
Next up, Agassiz Asphalt will begin resurfacing the roadway. Drivers can expect flaggers stopping traffic, temporary lane closures and slow-moving equipment throughout the project area.
Stop times will vary, ranging from just a few minutes to as long as 15 to 20 minutes depending on the day's work. Motorists are advised to avoid distractions and exercise extra caution while driving through the construction zone.
Please be patient, especially during peak travel times. Slow down, obey posted speed limits and signs, and help keep everyone safe.
