Same great service at American State Bank of Grygla.
If you’ve stopped into American State Bank & Insurance Agency of Grygla lately, you might have noticed some new faces alongside the ones you already know. With a great mix of seasoned experience and fresh energy, the team remains committed to providing the personal, local service the community has come to expect. Let’s meet those stepping into key roles on the team.

Meet Josie Dallman: Junior Loan Officer & Marketing Coordinator
Josie Dallman may be one of the newest faces at the bank, but she’s no stranger to the community or the world of agriculture. A May 2025 graduate of Valley City State University, Josie earned her degree in Business Administration with minors in Marketing and Ag Business. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and was honored as the university’s Outstanding Business Student in Ag Business.
Josie officially joined the bank at the end of May as a Junior Loan Officer. She’s been learning the ropes alongside longtime loan officer Laurie Polansky, who plans to retire this December. When that time comes, Josie will take on the loan officer role full-time.
On the lending side, Josie works with consumer loans, real estate loans, agricultural loans and commercial lending. “I’m really looking forward to meeting more customers and continuing the relationships I started during my internship here last summer,” she said.
Josie is already putting her marketing background to use, too. She’s managing the bank’s marketing efforts, something she’s excited to take on.
Raised on a cattle farm in Lehr, North Dakota, Josie brings strong ag roots to her work. She started her own herd at a young age, was very involved in 4-H and spent years showing livestock at various venues. It was through showing that she met her now-fiancé, Walter Jones, of Gatzke. The two are getting married this October and have since combined her herd with WJ Herefords, living and farming together in Gatzke. Josie also manages the marketing and business side of WJ Auction Service, the couple’s auction business.

Katie Holthusen: Human Resources & Accounting
A familiar face for the past few years, Katie Holthusen joined the bank nearly three years ago as a teller. As of February, she transitioned into her new role handling Human Resources and Accounting, including payroll, hiring paperwork and employee benefits. Though her duties are largely behind-the-scenes now, Katie still finds time to hop on the phones, help open accounts and assist wherever needed. “I like staying connected to the customer side of things as much as I can,” she said.
Katie and her husband Tobey live in rural Grygla and are parents to four kids. Their ages are 18, 13, 4 and 2, keeping their days full and busy.

Lexi Skansgaard: New Teller at the window
If Lexi Skansgaard looks familiar, it’s because she was recently introduced in the Grygla Eagle back in May. But with a big milestone happening at the bank this week, it’s the perfect time for a quick re-introduction.
Lexi officially stepped into her teller role on April 28th, as she prepares to take over for teller Jane Manzey, who retires tomorrow, Friday, June 27th.
Lexi is already feeling right at home. “One of the best parts of the job so far has been meeting customers and connecting with people from the area,” she said. “I’m really looking forward to getting to know more people in the community.”
Originally from Goodridge, Lexi is currently living with her parents between Goodridge and Grygla. She and her husband Tanner are deciding whether to build or buy a home nearby. Either way, their hearts are set on staying local. The couple is also expecting their first child, a baby boy, in the months ahead.
Wishing Jane Manzey well in retirement
After nearly four years serving customers at the teller window, Jane Manzey is officially retiring from American State Bank of Grygla TOMORROW! When asked what her retirement plans are, she smiled and said simply, “Whatever I want to do.” We wish her well in this next stage.
