From firearm safety to fall fellowship, the Sportsman’s Club sets the tone for the season.
It always feels like fall when the Fourtown/Grygla Sportsman’s Club hosts their annual Youth Firearm Safety Training and Fall Picnic. The club hosts many events throughout the year, but this one stands out as a favorite every September.
The day brings together dozens of volunteers who help run the firearm safety course, along with DNR officials who have praised the walk-through range as one of the best they have seen. It’s no wonder this event draws such a strong attendance each year. Club members set up the range, guiding youth through a variety of stations, and serving breakfast for those who attend.
The Youth Firearm Safety Training is coming up on Saturday, September 6th, from 9am-12pm at Grande Corner (west of Fourtown on Highway 89). Participants must be at least 11 years old and advance sign-up is required. The online course must be completed before September 6th at huntercourse.com.
The day is sponsored by the Fourtown/Grygla Sportsman’s Club. For more information, contact Donald Haack at 218-294-6325.
Once the training wraps up, club members and their families are invited to the Sportsman’s Club Fall Picnic that afternoon. Guests are asked to bring a dish to share, with meat and beverages provided by the club.
Board members up for renewal in 2025 are Robby Anderson, Jake Sundberg, and Carson Saurdiff.
