A big pageant weekend is approaching.
Another big pageant weekend is approaching Northern Minnesota! The weekend will kick off with Miss Middle River, Saturday August 2nd. This local scholarship pageant has been ongoing for 51 years! The pageant will be held at the Middle River Legacy Center, starting at 7:00 p.m. Three accomplished and talented girls will be vying for the title of Miss Middle River – Daizy Hanson, Graceyn Kvasager, and Kailey Hanson. Admission is $10 at the door.
You won’t have to wait long to see more competition – The following day, a local preliminary to the Miss Minnesota pageant will be held on Sunday August 3rd at 3:00 p.m. at the Middle River Legacy Center. The titles of Miss North Star and Miss Glacial Waters will be crowned on Sunday, August 3 beginning at 3 p.m. Candidates include Rebecca Ogg, Lainey Vrieze, Bella Burkel, Madelyn Gallant, Alexis Lombard and May Ditty. There will also be four contestants competing for Miss North Star Teen with the new titleholder advancing to the 2026 Miss Minnesota’s TEEN Pageant next June. Teens from the north ranging from ages 14-18 will compete for the 1st North Star teen title ever crowned. This winner will represent the north at the Miss Minnesota’s Teen competition next June at Treasure Island Resort and Casino. Vying for the title of Miss North Star’s Teen are Eliana Mast of Roseau, Reese DeLage of Fertile, Emily Waterworth of Newfolden, and Marnie Shepersky of Osage. We are so excited to offer this pageant with the opportunity to win scholarships to teens in this area. The 2026 newly crowned Miss Minnesota’s Teen, Lilly Geyer will also be attending the pageant and performing a dance on stage.
Emma Vrieze, our 2025 Miss Glacial Waters titleholder who was crowned at our pageant last year was a preliminary talent award winner and was crowned 2026 Miss Minnesota! Emma will be attending the Pageant on Sunday and we will get to visit with her, watch her perform her Miss Minnesota talent, hear about her year thus far and find out all about her preparation for Miss America in September!
The pageant committees are so excited for this long-lasting scholarship tradition! These pageants could not be possible without the generous support and donations from local businesses and community support! Thank you, northern Minnesota.
We hope to see you all on Saturday, August 2nd at 7:00 P.M. for the Miss Middle River Pageant, and Sunday August 3rd at 3:00 p.m as we crown 3 titles - Miss North Star’s Teen, Miss North Star and Miss Glacial Waters. Admission is $15.00 at the door. There will also be a 50/50 drawing which will take place on Sunday so bring your cash!
